Invite a volunteer
Invite someone to your church’s Displayte with their email and a role. Operator, the volunteer role, is chosen for you.

What you need
- An owner or admin account. Editors, operators and viewers can’t invite people; ask an owner or admin.
- The volunteer’s email address.
Everyone on your team is free: invite as many people as you need.
Send the invitation
- Go to People.
- Under Invite someone, type their Email address.
- Choose a Role. Operator is chosen for you: it’s the one most volunteers need.
- Choose Send invitation.
The page says the invitation is ready, with a link. If we emailed it to them, it says so. Either way, you can copy the link and send it yourself; a text message works fine.
Which role?
- Admin: manages people, TVs, content and billing. Can’t remove owners or delete the church.
- Editor: adds and edits content, and chooses what plays.
- Operator: changes what’s on the screens. Can’t edit anything.
- Viewer: can look. Can’t change anything.
An operator can’t break anything: they change what’s on the screens (which presentations a TV shows, and muting it), and can’t edit or delete anything.
What they see
They open the link and sign in, or make an account, with the same email address. The page says who invited them, which church it is and what their role lets them do. They choose Join and the church’s name, and they’re in.
Good to know
- The link works for 7 days, and only for that email address.
- To change someone’s role later, go to People and choose Change role on their row.
- If an invitation went to the wrong address, choose Cancel invitation under Waiting to join and send a new one.

More help
- Add slides from Canva, PowerPoint or Keynote
Save your slides as pictures, one per slide, then add them to your Library. Each slide becomes a picture a TV can show.
- Put a presentation on a TV
Make a presentation from your pictures, then choose which TVs show it. It’s on the screen within a minute.
- What the remote does on the TV
The Siri Remote picks a presentation, moves between pictures, and goes back. Nobody signs in on the TV.
- Add a TV
Pair an Apple TV with your church in about three minutes, with no keyboard on the TV.
