Put a presentation on a TV

Make a presentation from your pictures, then choose which TVs show it. It’s on the screen within a minute.

What you need

  • A TV that’s already added. If it isn’t, see Add a TV.
  • Pictures in your Library. If you don’t have any yet, see Add slides from Canva, PowerPoint or Keynote.
  • To make a presentation: an owner, admin or editor account. Operators can choose what a TV shows, but can’t make or change presentations.

Make the presentation

  1. Go to Presentations and choose New presentation.
  2. Under Start from, the first choice is A copy of last Sunday’s: everything in it, in the same order. Choose it to change only what’s different this week, or choose An empty presentation.
  3. Give it a name. The date of the coming Sunday is filled in; it sorts the list, so this week’s is at the top. For a lobby loop or a kids’ room that never changes, tick Always on, with no date instead.
  4. Choose Create presentation.
  5. Choose Add pictures, tick the ones you want, and choose Add to the presentation. They play in the order on the page: drag a row into place, or use Up and Down.

Every change saves as you make it. The page says All changes saved.

Choose how it plays

Under Automatically advance:

  • Off (the start): someone picks each picture with the remote. Good for a lesson, where the leader decides when to move on.
  • On: it plays through by itself, round and round. Good for a lobby or a hallway. Set Each picture shows for anywhere from 3 to 60 seconds.

Put it on a TV

  1. Go to Displays.
  2. Choose Choose presentations, or a TV’s own Presentations button.
  3. Under Which TVs?, tick the TVs. A group, like Kids Wing, ticks all its TVs at once.
  4. Under Which presentations?, tick the ones those TVs should have. A half-ticked box means some of the TVs have it and some don’t; leave it alone and each TV keeps its own.
  5. Read the line above Save: it says what each TV will show once you save. Then choose Save.
Choosing a presentation for one TV on Displays, and the line that says what it will show.

What happens next

The TV changes within a minute. Its card on Displays says what it’s playing right now, with a picture of the screen, so you can check from your phone without walking to the room.

Good to know

  • A TV with one presentation opens straight into it. With two or more, it shows a list, and someone picks one with the remote. See What the remote does on the TV.
  • If a TV is offline, it keeps showing what it had. It gets the change when it’s back on the Wi‑Fi.
  • To take a presentation off a TV, untick it the same way and choose Save.

More help

  • Add slides from Canva, PowerPoint or Keynote

Save your slides as pictures, one per slide, then add them to your Library. Each slide becomes a picture a TV can show.

  • Invite a volunteer

Invite someone to your church’s Displayte with their email and a role. Operator, the volunteer role, is chosen for you.

  • What the remote does on the TV

The Siri Remote picks a presentation, moves between pictures, and goes back. Nobody signs in on the TV.

  • Add a TV

Pair an Apple TV with your church in about three minutes, with no keyboard on the TV.
